Bojack Horseman

Bojack Horseman is a show which I really enjoy. It is about the life of dysfunction which a horse leads as he deals with issues in his own mental health. The show is extremely hilarious but also has a much darker side. I like to think of the show of one big PSA for addiction and mental illness. Bojack is an alchoholic who denies he has a problem. Because of this, he ruins the life of others and all the relationships in his life. Believing that he is just a bad person, he never makes any effort to change. This is a common theme for many characters in the show. None of the characters are like-able and have issues of their own. For example, the character of Diane provides a voice of reason in Bojack's life. She wants to believe he is a good person and preaches that she believes in second chances. However, when it actually comes down to what Bojack has done, she concludes that he doesn't deserve to be forgiven and that he is too far gone. I believe that this show provides an insight in the worst parts of ourselves. It is extremely funny yet also is meaningful.
